Alex Campbell

Alex Campbell, the founder of Camp Campbell and a dedicated basketball coach, has made significant strides both on and off the court. With a distinguished playing career spanning over a decade and a successful coaching career, Alex’s journey in basketball is a testament to his passion for the sport.

Playing Career: Alex’s professional basketball career is distinguished by his leadership and impactful performances. He has showcased his skills internationally in Spain, Finland, France, China and Taiwan, and has been a prominent figure in the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL). Notably, Alex served as captain for both the Vancouver Bandits and the Saskatchewan Rattlers. With the Bandits, he earned accolades as the team’s offensive player of the year and MVP. His leadership was instrumental in guiding the Rattlers to the inaugural CEBL Championship, where he was also named CEBL Championship Weekend MVP. Alex holds the CEBL record among Canadian players for both total points scored and three-pointers made.

Coaching Career: Transitioning seamlessly from player to coach, Alex currently serves as the lead assistant for the University of Saskatchewan Huskies men’s basketball team. Known for his leadership and strategic insight, he has played an important role in the continued development and growth of the program. This summer, Alex will take the next step in his professional coaching career as the Assistant Coach and Assistant General Manager of the Winnipeg Sea Bears.

Camp Campbell: Beyond the court, Alex founded Camp Campbell, a community-driven initiative aimed at young athletes, kids, and parents. Launched during the COVID-19 pandemic (2020), Camp Campbell was born out of a desire to support and uplift the community during challenging times. Through this program, Alex uses basketball as a platform to inspire and educate, drawing from his own life experiences to motivate young athletes and impart valuable life skills. Camp Campbell reflects his unwavering commitment to giving back to the community and fostering the next generation of athletes.
